Position Summary Information
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
Experience with database tuning, backup and recovery, security, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with database-related programming languages and tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
License/Certification Required
N/A
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
2+ years of experience with Oracle RAC, ASM and Data Guard.
Experience with other database systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres.
Experience with Banner, Degree Works, CSGold, WebFOCUS and/or AppWorx.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Applications DBA is responsible for administering, managing, and supporting all enterprise Oracle databases and associated and/or integrated applications.

The range of responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:

Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database systems, including RAC and ASM.
Perform database tuning to optimize performance.
Implement security measures to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Monitor database systems to ensure proper operation and resolve any issues that arise.
Perform database backup and recovery operations, including using Data Guard.
Manage database storage and allocate resources as needed.
Participate in the design and implementation of database systems.
Provide technical support for database-related issues.
Develop and maintain database documentation, including for RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in database management.
