The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Health & Diseases is seeking candidates for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), to function as a independent practitioner under the direct supervision of a designated physician, to assist in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients in the area of electrophysiology. The individual will provide patient/family education and will be expected to participate in teaching activities for students, residents and fellows.



This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

Essential Functions
Perform appropriate history and physical assessment for patients in the area of congestive heart failure.
Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
May assist Cardiologist in diagnostic.
Maintain accurate medical records.
Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
Participate in research and development projects.
Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students.
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
Master’s Degree in Nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.

Required Trainings/Certifications
Current/valid RN and APN license/license eligible to practice in the state of Ohio.
May require certification in corresponding specialty.
Required Experience
Three (3) years nursing experience.
Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
Additional Qualifications Considered
At least 2-3 years of experience working and treating patients with cardiac related health issues.
Comfortable with conducting shared medical appointments.
Comfortable with public speaking and presenting in front of large groups.
Individual should enjoy being part of multi-disciplinary team.
