The Leeds University Business School is one of the seven Faculties and is home to almost 500 staff and over 5,000 students from around 100 countries. It is triple accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS and is comprised of six departments across Accounting and Finance; Economics; International Business; Management; Marketing and Work and Employment Relations. In the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, 90% of the Business School’s research submissions were deemed to be either ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ overall.

The Business School is now seeking to appoint its next Deputy Dean who will play an integral part in the implementation of the strategic plan, delivering world-leading research and an exceptional student experience. In addition to deputising for the Dean both formally and informally, they will coordinate the delivery of key strategic objectives, build and maintain corporate partnerships and promote local community engagement. The Deputy Dean will also develop close and effective working relationships across the University with both academic and professional services colleagues. They will contribute to the growth of the executive education offering, external engagement activity, and the creation of innovative and online educational programmes.

Candidates for the post will bring an ability to think strategically and creatively, a proven ability to drive and implement change successfully, and a strong track record of leadership and management within a relevant context. They will bring a demonstrable record of being able to work collaboratively and upholding values of equality, diversity and inclusion in their approach to leadership.

Perrett Laver will conduct an executive search process in parallel with the public advertisement of the role. Longlisted candidates will be invited to interview with Perrett Laver w/c 16th and 23rd October and an informal online meeting with the Executive Dean of Leeds University Business School on 1st November. The Selection Panel will subsequently meet to decide upon a final shortlist for the post in early November, following which, visits and interviews with Leeds will take place in late November 2023.
