As a member of the Metropolitan College (MC) management team, this position is responsible for participating in the shared management of the overall program; development and implementation of program policies and procedures; collaboration with the MC Executive Director to develop and implement budget; and provide consultation about the partnership to other organizations and agencies. This position coordinates program evaluation and reporting by ensuring measurable outcomes are established and processes are implemented to ensure on-going feedback. The MC Director effectively communicates outcomes to internal and external constituents and initiates changes in policies and procedures to effectively address areas needing improvement. This position provides the direct supervision of eight Student Success Counselor staff. In addition, this position provides indirect supervision of one partner staff in the CREW Career Center.
This position provides leadership for MC student success services by collaborating with IT, management and Student Success Counselor staff to prioritize and implement technology tasks; coordinating training and staff development opportunities in conjunction with the weekly staff meetings; recording and maintaining office policies and procedures on SharePoint; coordinating communications with UPS HR staff; providing leadership for MC Student Success Counselor services by serving on the bi-weekly UPS meeting and reporting on MC student services; serving on the MC Academic Appeals Committee; documenting MC outcomes and initiatives for the MC Council report; overseeing all MC petition communications and leading weekly staff meetings.
This position oversees all services for current and prospective students of the Metropolitan College (MC) program and provides information about the policy and procedures of the program. Services require staff to implement counseling skills to assist students in understanding how to successfully integrate academic, work and personal responsibilities as well as educate students regarding successful career planning and connects students to resources helpful in obtaining individual career goals. To achieve these goals, this position must work closely with constituents from corporate partners, educational partners and the community.
This position has office locations at both Jefferson Community and Technical College downtown as well as the University of Louisville Belknap campus. This position will occasionally work at JCTC SW and the UPS facilities to support staff and partners. More information about the program is located on www.metro-college.com and www.crew.cc
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in the shared management of the MC program including development of policies/ procedures and budget. Contribute to the coordination of overall program management with business partners as well as partner educational institutions. Recruit and develop opportunities for new partners to participate in Metropolitan College.
Supervise eight Student Success Counselors and provide on-site supervision to the JCTC CREW/Experiential Learning staff, by establishing program goals; implementing effective coaching skills to ensure staff achieves results; providing on-going performance evaluation; identifying training/staff development needs and implementing accordingly.
The MC Director provides oversight of all MC student services. MC provides on-going customized contact to students through cohort assignments regarding enrollment, financial barriers, effective academic planning to achieve on-time degree completion, and fulfilment of eligibility requirements to access MC benefits. The MC Director will ensure that the enrollment management process of new MC students will facilitate campus, community, and employment resources working collaboratively to recruit, employ, and enroll students to achieve MC and partner goals. In addition, the Director will ensure support of MC student persistence and graduation by working with staff to identify student barriers and develop a plan to persist academically as well as in the workforce. The MC Director will also implement services that identify at-risk students to provide more intensive support and to make appropriate referrals to campus, community, and employer resources.
The MC Director also provides oversight of the CREW Career Center, a partnership with Metropolitan College and Jefferson Community and Technical College. Career services are delivered in-person and on-line and provide assistance with career exploration, career planning, and career placement.
The MC Director coordinates program evaluation and reporting by ensuring measurable outcomes are established and processes are implemented to ensure on-going feedback. Effectively communicate outcomes to internal and external constituents. Initiate changes in policies and procedures to effectively address areas needing improvement.

This position requires strategic communication with the ability to contribute to the development of a common department vision as well as the ability to effectively supervise employees. As a supervisor, this position requires a leader who demonstrates flexibility, empathy, compassion, transparency and trust in supporting their colleagues and implements an open-door policy to support staff. With a foundation of strong collegial relationships, this position also requires an individual who is decisive, organized, good critical thinker, innovative, trainer/coach, implements excellent program management skills and can clearly document processes, procedures and policies.
Experience in workforce development with the demonstrated ability to develop relationships with external workforce development entities and industry representatives to address current and emerging workforce needs. Furthermore, this position requires an individual to be flexible in meeting the changing needs of primary partners, students, staff, and the workforce.

Adept in Technology- technological skills necessary to perform data entry, manage calendars as well as utilize internet, People Soft and MC internal database with attention to accuracy and timelines. Familiar with Microsoft Office software Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more.
