Position Description

With little to no direction and using a demonstrated broad level of skills and knowledge, provides advanced administrative support to assigned staff or faculty members. Operates independently in prioritizing own workload and that of others in determining how best to accomplish work objectives. Is proactive in identifying, following through, and resolving various issues. Participates in special projects and other duties, as required. May delegate work to others. The work schedule is 36 hours a week, Monday through Friday, and supports both campuses. Occasional late nights and weekends.

Position Requirements

Qualified candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated work-related work experience. 4-6 years of related work experience preferred. Must be organized with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated communication and customer service skills are required. Demonstrated working knowledge of standard office equipment and budget management is required. Demonstrated computer proficiency required with an emphasis on Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PointPoint, Publisher, word processing, spreadsheet, and data management skills. The demonstrated ability to learn public safety computer software programs.

Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, high level of confidentiality, and the ability to operate independently, prioritize and organize own work schedule, multi-task, and meet established deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated ability to work effectively in the absence of direct supervision; and the flexibility to come in early and stay late and work holidays and weekends, if needed.
Ability to delegate work responsibly to others, monitor the work of others, and provide ongoing guidance, and leadership to others.
