Salary: Grade 9 (£56,021 - £64,914 p.a. plus a salary supplement of up to £5,000 depending on experience) 

This role will be based our university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.   We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The University of Leeds is seeking to appoint a Head of Legal Services on a full-time permanent basis who will work as part of the Secretariat Directorate. This is a senior role providing legal advice to the University; managing instructions to external legal advisers; working closely with other Professional Service areas; and managing a team of solicitors and legal specialists.

The post holder will combine specialist legal skills and knowledge to deliver an in-house legal advice service, with a focus on commercial decision making and risk management; to independently drive and negotiate institutional contracts and agreements; support employee relations casework; and provide advice on a wide range of other legal matters to colleagues across the University.

The Head of Legal Services will be expected to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload, as well as having oversight and directing the work of the Legal Services unit.
