Position Description

  • Receptionist – greet and direct visitors, answer phone, sort and distribute mail. Provide assistance to the Academic Affairs Operations Manager, and other office staff as needed on a daily basis. Produce documents; copying and filing.
  • Faculty Travel and Fellowship Reimbursement:
    • Working with faculty and department administrative associates, approve all P.O. submissions for faculty reimbursement that is provided in Article XXXI of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Administrative support for the Library faculty and staff
  • Provides administrative support for the Office of the Provost
  • Assist with overall faculty contracts (in OACS)
  • Assist with communication for promotion and tenure
  • Review Faculty and Chair Travel Fund budgets; reconcile recorded expenses paid in 4D to budgets; monitor budgets within the Provost’s office; notify Academic Affairs Operations Manager of any issues.: Access budgets through myRider Finance; compare 4D records to budget expenditures; flag discrepancies.
  • Assist with scheduling (conference rooms, calendars, etc.)
  • Other assigned duties

Position Requirements

Four years minimum experience in an academic environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic. Discretion and the ability to appropriately handle sensitive, confidential information. Respond quickly and accurately to a wide variety of inquiries and requests, both internal and external. Attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize work with competing deadlines. Efficient preparation and distribution of correspondence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Works well with others and independently. Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite. Ability to quickly learn other software packages. 

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Familiar with 25Live; CaterTrax. Experience working in databases. Interest and ability to learn new tasks. Experience with budget monitoring and Banner a plus.
