Responsibilities
The Zhao Lab is looking for a part-time Laboratory Technician. The individual is expected to perform routine laboratory procedures according to standardized protocols and report results. The individual receives detailed instructions on assignments and regular supervision. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn mouse genetics and molecular techniques. It also allows the individual to gain experience in cellular immunology research using flow cytometry.

Responsibilities will include:
- Genotyping by PCR, DNA electrophoresis and updating strain database.
- Making common buffer/solutions.
- Assisting other researchers in experiments by harvesting tissues from mice, staining cells with antibodies, and running samples on flow cytometer.


Qualifications
Solid understanding of mathematical calculation. Should be familiar with general lab techniques and basic knowledge of technical/functional procedures. Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Must have the ability to carefully follow written and verbal instructions, be highly motivated, conscientious, and highly dependable.
