Job Description

Associate Professor or Full Professor in Social Work will teach undergraduate and graduate-level social work courses, engage in scholarly activities, actively pursue extramural funding opportunities, and contribute to service initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Teach undergraduate and graduate-level social work courses.
B. Research: Pursue a defined research agenda that results in publications, presentations, creative works, and external funding that support and advance social work knowledge. Demonstrate knowledge of recent scholarly developments in specialization and incorporate them into teaching. Faculty member/s hired at the Associate or Full faculty rank must demonstrate research experience and productivity commensurate with this rank.
C. Service: Actively contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department of Social Work, the College of Health, Ball State University, and the Social Work community at the local, state, and national levels.
D. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
E. Opportunity to lead a research center.

Minimum Experience:

A. Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program
B. Earned doctorate in social work or related discipline
C. Three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
D. Record of scholarship and established research agenda

Preferred Experience:

A. Five or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level commensurate with tenure on hire
B. Two or more years post-MSW practice experience in a clinical setting (e.g., addictions, aging, health, or mental health)
C. Scholarly publication record (e.g., peer-reviewed journal articles, submitted/funded grant proposals) commensurate with tenure on hire
D. Clinical License in social work (LCSW) or addictions (LCAC)
E. History of university or professional service commensurate with tenure on hire
F. Experience with academic program administration, clinical supervision, and/or research leadership
