An introduction to the principles of corporate finance and their application in business today, focusing on the measurement and creation of value in a corporation. Topics include: financial markets, present value analysis, the theory of risk and return, portfolio theory, asset pricing models, cost of capital, capital budgeting, capital structure, and value based management.

Qualifications

- Ph.D. degree in Finance or a closely related field and a recent publication record in the field, OR

- A master’s degree in finance or a closely related field and five years of current, relevant professional experience.

- Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level and experience/familiarity with online/hybrid instruction in order to prepare for contingencies. This position requires all course work to be performed in the state of California. Candidates must perform all course-related work within the state of California.

Salary: $6,480 and $10,308 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU 1021, who have previously taught the course or BUSAD 123, available here.
