Position Description

The Department of Dance at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of Dance for the SPRING 2024 semester beginning January 22, 2024, and ending on April 26, 2023. This position is to teach Dance Improvisation.

Position Requirements

Applicants must possess the demonstrated ability to teach an intermediate level of dance improvisation class that represents a robust 21st century approach to a healthy dance practice. All applicants must demonstrate their experience or ability to foster inclusive dance training for all student dancers.  Professional or higher education teaching experience required. 

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Applicants who are fluent in body work methods such as somatic movement education, Feldenkrais, Bartenieff, Sweigard, and Alexander technique, and who additionally have a teaching methodology that considers the phenomenology of dance are preferred.
