Department Information – South Pasadena

The Radiation Therapist II reports directly to the Director of Radiation Oncology. This person will perform treatments and simulations on a Varian 2100iX and Philips CT simulator, and works closely with the entire radiation oncology care team to ensure prompt and efficient care delivery following COH policies and procedures. This role will collaborate regularly with other staff and leadership for ongoing clinical operational awareness. New grads are encourage to apply!

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients of all ages.
• Operate MRI control console for each patient’s scan, including selection of proper imaging techniques and operates various peripheral hardware
• Reinforce recommendations given to patient by healthcare professional concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiated area, prevention, or treatment of generalized and local side effects
• Perform simulation procedures as prescribed by physician and assist in dosimetry procedures
• Perform diagnostic testing on equipment, general maintenance, and quality assurance as is appropriate

Your qualifications should include:

• High School or equivalent; Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education Program
• 3+ years radiation therapy experience with demonstrated strong technical leadership skills
• Licensed by the California State Department of Health (Certified in Radiation Therapy)
• Certification by the ARRT – in Radiation Therapy CRT
• BLS or CPR
