The House Supervisor is a licensed registered nurse who is responsible for assisting the directors and managers in the operational aspects of the patient care areas. The House Supervisor facilitates patient flow within the organization, including bed placement. The House Supervisor coordinates the staffing needs for each shift. This role provides 24/7 oversight and clinical support. The House Supervisor may provide direct patient care when appropriate.The successful candidate:
- Support and promote City of Hope’s mission and values regarding quality care, employee support/engagement, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with both internal and external customers to meet global strategic goals.
- Ensure units comply with regulatory and professional standards and hospital policy. Perform audits and report results as appropriate; Adheres to the hospital and department infection control policies including but not limited to hand hygiene, asepsis, isolation practice, and employee health practice
- .Oversees and ensures that admits, transfers and discharges are facilitated in a timely manner to maintain patient flow; assures patients are assigned to appropriate level of care.
- Ensures adequate staff coverage to provide continuity of patient care based on a variety of variables including, patient census, acuity, and staff competencies. Partners with appropriate leaders to assure accurate staff mix. Leads daily staffing meeting.
- Authorizes and acts in the absence of hospital administration.
- Collaborates with appropriate leaders to review incident reports or patient concerns and makes recommendations to minimize future occurrences. Partners with department leaders to monitor adherence.
- Performs patient assessments based on systematic data collection; correctly identifies patient problems and priorities. Reports findings to relevant care team and coordinates care needs appropriately.
- Understands, coordinates, and carries out Emergency Plan to address crisis as they occur. Acts as team leader for crisis as needed. Escalates through appropriate chain of command.
- Effectively communicates to resolve conflict, provides excellent customer service, and supports service recovery.
- Acts as a conduit for collaboration between multiple disciplines to facilitate patient care or flow.
- Protects the patient’s dignity, rights, and privacy.
- Maintain required competencies.
- Pursue professional growth and keep current with technology.
- Completes additional duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work 3 12's
QUALIFICATIONS
Your qualifications should include:
1-year critical care experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or ADN with 4 years of House Supervisor experience.
Current AZ (or compact state) RN License
American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Lifer Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $36.72 - $60.47 / hour
