Summary

The School of Medicine and Health Professions and the Education Cores is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Business Operations to serve as the Human Resources coordinator. 

 

Baylor College of Medicine School of Medicine offers programs that cover the learning continuum from Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Graduate Medical Education (GME) to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).  In addition, SOM also offers MD/PhD and Baccalaureate/MD programs. Commencing with Academic Year 2023-2024, the UME program will expand to Temple, Texas (BCM Temple), in partnership with Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH). Baylor College of Medicine School of Health Professions offers 4 programs: Physician’s Assistant; Orthotics and Prosthetics; Genetic Counseling; Doctor of Nursing Practice-Nurse Anesthesia. The Education Cores are comprised of the Anatomy and Willed-Body program and the Simulation Lab. 
 

Job Duties

• Serves as primary point of contact for all Human Resource functions for all 11 divisions within the scope of the Senior Dean’s Office: SOM, SHP, and the Education Cores.  
• Responsible for the HR needs of all divisions on a daily basis, including the full recruitment process, terminations, on-boarding and orientation, new hire communications, and off-boarding activities, including scheduling of interviews for faculty if needed; monthly new hire announcements, etc. 
• Provides HR operational knowledge and guidance to employees and managers within all divisions and responsible for understanding BCM policies and serving as the front line for all Division’s HR related issues. 
• Collaborates and provides support for the Temple HR operations coordinator to ensure uniformity between both campuses
• Develops strategies for implementing processes to improve the efficiency of the HR operations across all our divisions. 
• Maintains compliance records and performs follow up for completion for all Divisions and follow up for completion as needed (i.e., BCM annual compliance trainings, BCM required attestations, AWA forms, etc.)
• Works closely with all division senior managers/leaders to ensure consistency and compliance with BCM HR policies and procedures and to effectively implement staff development, performance management, and retention strategies. 
• In partnership with the department leadership and College HR Business Partner, analyzes and recommends actionable solutions to HR related challenges for uniform support. 
• Works with the Executive Director regarding compensation management (salary adjustments, equities, promotion forms, etc.)
• Creates processes/best practices for all HR related tasks while working with Central HR such as student hires and faculty hires for the Education mission under the Sr. Dean’s office.
• Performs monthly PEPT reviews to ensure accuracy and completion for Senior Dean’s office personnel.  
• Responsible for working with Faculty Affairs and candidates for full process of Faculty hires. 
• Collaborates with the Senior Dean of Education to strategically innovate and implement the quarterly Wellness program events; employee morale efforts/events and Professional development events
• Manages annual professional development reimbursements and employee morale events/action items for all divisions under the Sr. Dean’s office.
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SuccessFactors.
