The BI ETL Developer will be responsible for designing, building, implementation and maintenance data processing channels for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to connect large data sets from a variety of sources. The role will develop, maintain, and use infrastructure solutions (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes) including data access APIs that transform data into a usable format enabling users to consume and analyze data more efficiently. The role prepares and manipulates data using tools, languages, data processing frameworks, and databases, providing non-IT professionals access to enterprise information. Ideal candidates will have excellent technical and interpersonal skills as well as a passion for the University’s mission of research, education, and outreach.



Job Responsibilities:
● Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various data sets.
● Create user semantic layer structures to provide end users with efficient access to transformed data.
● Implement data architecture and data governance standards to ensure consistency across subject areas and models.
● Perform data analysis activities to capture data requirements clearly, completely, and correctly, and represent them through a logical data model.
● Coordinate with clients, data users and key stakeholders to develop and achieve long- term objectives for data architecture and data quality.
● Ability to reverse engineer existing ETL code.
● Takes responsibility of etl and BI related migration.
● Administer the SAP BI environment. This will include providing user access, changing/updating passwords, troubleshooting performance issues, being accountable for migrations and software upgrade activities.



Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000 (depends on qualifications)


Work Environment: This is a hybrid position, sharing time between on-site and remote work. On-site expectations are approximately twice per week, but can vary depending on business needs. Hours are generally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications (must be documented on resume):
● BA/BA plus at least 4 years of experience or master’s plus at least 2 years of experience.
● Experience with data modeling and database design (preferably Oracle 19c or compatible versions).
● Strong SQL (Structured Query Language) skills.
● Experience working with data in an enterprise data and analytics environment.
● Experience with SAP Business Objects (BO) BI and Webi

Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience working with dimensionally and relationally modeled data.
● Experience working with Oracle RPD OBIEE or similar tools.
● Experience working with Oracle databases.
● Experience working with tools like Toad and SQL Developer.
● Experience working with ETL tools such as SAP Data Services (ETL), SSIS, Data stage.
● Experience working with reporting tools (Crystal Reports and Tableau).
● Experience with Dimensional Modeling.
