Job Description
Summary
The Division of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Business Operations capable of establishing best practice workflows and independently processing a diverse array of financial transactions in the department. The individual will work in our new SAP S4 system and Concur to process travel and non-travel reimbursements, create and manage purchase orders and reconcile invoices. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and work independently to learn policies and procedures with mentoring from the department administrator and department accounting professionals.
Job Duties
- Develops best practice workflows and SOPs for the department’s business transactions.
- Manages department travel and travel financial processing including auditing traveler-entered expense reports (Concur).
- Facilitates department non-travel reimbursement (Concur).
- Stays current with BCM and funding agency allowable spend policies and serve as a knowledge source for department members.
- Facilitates complicated purchase orders (capital for example)
- Facilitates the department’s contract review submissions.
- Monitors blocked invoices and works with appropriate partners to resolve.
- Monitors encumbrances on all department accounts, and work with appropriate partners to resolve.
- Creates check requests.
- Creates journal entries.
- Assures that financial transactions are entered and processed each month by the close of business.
- As needed, assist the department administrator and department finance team with financial reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience managing financial transactions and reconciling expenses.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
