Job Description

Summary

As a member of the Investment Office, the analyst will support the team by working across multiple functional areas related to investing and managing the College’s $1.5 billion endowment.  Responsibilities include data tracking, monitoring, and analytics of various markets, portfolios, and investments.  The analyst will assist in the evaluation of new investment opportunities, various research projects, in addition to providing administrative and operational support.

 

This position may be eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement after an onboarding and training period.

Job Duties

  • Prepare various types of analysis to evaluate performance and trends in both public and private asset classes.
  • Assist in all aspects of the sourcing and due diligence process for new investments and re-ups, including evaluating the attractiveness of investment opportunities in the context of various market environments, due diligence on current and prospective investment managers, and the documentation of new commitments.
  • Assemble background materials for preparation ahead of meetings with new and existing managers.  Take note of key takeaways and follow-up items discussed in manager meetings.  Maintain CRM/sourcing database, and investment pipeline. 
  • Provide support in the on-going monitoring of existing investments through the review of financial reports and participation in update meetings/calls with current managers.  
  • Aggregate and track portfolio cash flows, performance, and underlying investment data.  Reconcile manager-reported metrics with amounts reported by external service providers to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the College’s annual audit process to ensure timely delivery of investment confirmations and responses to requests by the College’s external auditor.
  • Perform special, as-hoc projects to support investing and managing the endowment. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Team-oriented professional with intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong quantitative and analytical skills.  
  • Proficient in Excel and/or other financial programming environments required.
  • Familiarity with investment principles and investment reporting standards.
