About This Role:

K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for an ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT, which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.

An example of job duties includes but are not limited to:

Develop and manage a portfolio of 175+ major gift prospects focusing on solicitations of $50,000 and above.
Conduct at least 15-20 strategic moves with prospects and donors per month and participate in a minimum of 25+ solicitations per year.
Gather data, assess prospects, and develop strategies designed to realize the current and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects.
Frequent travel in the state of Kansas and some national travel is required.
Must have a valid driver's license at all times.
Aggressively identify and formally qualify new major gift prospects by developing and executing long-range and short-range strategies and plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects, producing a continuous stream of donors capable of making gifts of $50,000 or more to K-State Athletics.
Partner with Athletic Development colleagues to develop, plan and execute successful fundraising campaigns.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with academic and other unit colleagues on campus.
Participate in Athletic Development events as appropriate, including but not limited to football, volleyball, women's soccer, men's and women's basketball and baseball game activities, on- and off-campus donor activities, and other special events.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree at time of application

Two or more years of college athletics major gift fundraising experience, sales experience, or comparable experience within a college athletics department or higher education

Successful track record of development and/or sales productivity in a complex work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree
Three or more years of college athletics major gift fundraising experience, or comparable experience within a college athletics department
Experience working with and managing a portfolio of donors
Experience fundraising in NCAA Division I athletics
Other Requirements:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to promote and demonstrate respect, collaboration and friendly customer service in all working relationships and situations
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Must be able to travel as required, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays when needed
Must have a valid driver's license at all times
