Job Description

Summary

Performs responsible research work of a complex nature, namely generation, maintenance, and characterization of human brain organoids, that requires establishing test methods and procedures as well as planning, completing, and occasionally supervising limited research projects. 
 

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory experiments. 
  • Propagates and maintains patient-specific cell lines. 
  • Develops and maintains human brain organoid models.  
  • Prepares samples for additional analyses, including protein and RNA extraction. 
  • Treats the culture with drugs and prepares them for experiments.  
  • Defines problems and possible solutions.  
  • Evaluates and analyzed data 
  • Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.  
  • Orders and makes all necessary reagents, and keeps all records of protocols and experimental data.  
  • Keeps overall inventory for the lab.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
