Job Summary
The Oregon NASA Space Grant Consortuim (OSGC) at Oregon State University is seeking a Program Manager. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

Oregon State University serves as the lead institution for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program (Space Grant). The Oregon NASA Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) is one of 52 jurisdictions nationwide contributing to NASA’s next generation workforce. OSGC consists of 19 affiliate members representing universities, community colleges, and informal education institutions across Oregon. Member institutions are engaged in space science and aerospace education, research, and public outreach.

The consortium’s mission is to support students and faculty in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines by providing unique learning and research opportunities through access to NASA content, facilities, people, and resources. OSGC sits in the OSU College of Science with budgetary oversight from the Research Office and reports programmatic impact and outcomes to NASA Office of STEM Engagement.

OSGC staff centrally administers 10 statewide programs. The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Director and the Consortium in areas of programmatic development, implementation, and oversight, as well as assisting with budget implementation and data collection for reporting.

Oregon State has a statewide presence with campuses in Corvallis and Bend, the OSU Portland Center and the Hatfield Marine Science Center on the Pacific Coast in Newport.

Key Responsibilities
70% – Programmatic and Administrative:
Assist in development and implementation of OSGC programs with oversight form the director. Programs include the Dr. Nancy Squires Memorial Scholarship program, the Student Academic Research Review (STARR) program, STEM Community College Opportunity for Research Experience (SCORE) program, graduate fellowship program, the Undergraduate Research Award Program, the Affiliate Faculty Research Incubator Program, the Faculty Research Award Program, and the Astronomer in Residence program. Duties include oversite of solicitation and proposal process, dissemination of information and opportunities, selection committee setup, award announcements, and follow through on deliverables from program start to completion. Assist with NASA student internship placement as needed.
Work collaboratively with OSGC leadership team as needed and to include 1) collection and compilation of student data for longitudinal tracking and reporting purposes, 2) organization and coordination of two student symposiums held at OSU, and 3) organization of the annual affiliate meeting hosted on location at an OSGC affiliate member institution.

20% – Service to the Network:
Develop and maintain relationships with OSGC stakeholders and key contacts within OSU to enhance workflow and work quality. Collaborate on significant projects as appropriate. Represent OSGC at national/or regional space grant conferences and with state and local constituents of OSGC. Serve on Space Grant committees and task forces as appropriate.

10% – Other duties as assigned by director, including opportunities for relevant professional development.
What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3 years’ experience in project management or transferable skills.
At least one year experience with federal grant program.
Applied budget management experience.
Demonstrate commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
Two years’ experience with budget tracking and running multiple programs simultaneously.
One year experience managing grant-related programming.
Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) background or experience.
Excellent organizational skills.
Familiarity with project management platforms.
Advanced user of Microsoft Office software applications.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This is a 1.0 FTE position, located in the OSGC offices at Kidder Hall on the OSU Corvallis campus. Position can be hybrid as needed. Travel for Space Grant meetings and conferences is expected with a minimum 4 times per year and additional travel as needed.
