Summary

We are seeking a qualified, experienced, professional who possesses advanced knowledge for a full-time Software Engineering and Programing Associate. This position will function in a capacity in which they write codes and implement computer programs on multiple systems for clinical research data recording. This position will develop, test and maintain computer software applications using a variety of coding languages such as C++, python, R, and others.

 

The Software Engineering and Programing Associate will facilitate multiple clinical trials, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Research Manager. The position is located at both Baylor College of Medicine Main Campus and CHI St. Luke Hospital at the Texas Medical Center.

Job Duties

  • Develops, modifies and maintains computer programs based on research project specifications.
  • Designs, or assists with design of, 24-hour recording system for collecting research data at the Epilepsy monitoring unit.
  • Tests programs; coordinates and observes beta testing of new or updated programs.
  • Debugs or corrects any issues discovered during beta testing.
  • Analyzes, reviews, and revises programs as needed to increase operating efficiency or adapt program to new requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming or related field required.
  • Master's degree in a related field and no experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in the field of data science, neuroscience, and big data analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of computer programming languages, which may include C, C++, Java, Python, Swift, R, and other computer languages.
