Ohio University’s Health Services Administration program is seeking an open-rank faculty member to join the Department of Social and Public Health. This is a nine-month Associate or Assistant Professor tenure-track position that reports to the Chair of the Department of Social and Public Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining an active research agenda and for teaching courses in the undergraduate Health Services Administration and the online Master of Health Administration programs. All areas of specialization are encouraged to apply; teaching responsibilities will include classes in health care leadership, management, policy, and long-term care (among others). The candidate will be expected to seek external funding for health services research, serve as an academic mentor to students, and engage in professional, university, and community service.
The candidate will be joining an interdisciplinary department with opportunities to collaborate with fellow faculty on a range of social and public health issues. Additional collaboration and research support opportunities are available through affiliation with the Appalachian Institute to Advance Health Equity Science (ADVANCE) (https://www.ohio.edu/chsp/advance), which brings together researchers across the university, including faculty from the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service.
The location for this position will be the main campus of Ohio University, in Athens, OH. Athens has been named as “The Best College Small Town” by USA Today, which noted our beautiful setting, walkable downtown, vibrant local music and arts scene, and affordable cost of living.

Minimum Qualifications
·Earned doctorate in health administration, health policy and management, business administration, public health administration, or other related discipline. If ABD, doctorate degree must be confirmed by time of the appointment.
·Ability to engage in research with potential for extramural funding

·Strong and clear evidence of research and scholarly activity accomplishments in health services administration
·Evidence of successful college/university teaching experience
·Experience with e-learning
·Evidence of successful college/university advising experience
·Commitment to quality undergraduate and graduate education
·Involvement in professional health administration related associations (AUPHA, ACHE, AOM, APHA, or similar)
·Professional experience in a health care organization

Pay Rate
