Job Description

Summary

The Disability Associate is responsible for overseeing, administering, and coordinating accommodations within Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). Serves as primary point of contact at BCM to manage accommodation requests according to BCM’s policies and process and in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

 

This position will work mostly remote with some onsite required at our office location if the Texas Medical Center.
 

Job Duties

  • Serves as the subject matter expert regarding accommodations and acts as a resource to the BCM Community and providers regarding accommodation requests.
  • Processes accommodation applications, determines eligibility and reasonable accommodations for the BCM community with disabilities.
  • Consults on reasonable accommodations, job descriptions, undue hardship determinations, and other areas impacting BCM’s ADA program.
  • Monitors compliance with ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and conducts ongoing reviews of federal and state regulations that govern the provision of disability services to employees.
  • Maintains confidential records, including documents pertaining to disability documentation, the interactive process, reasonable accommodations, case notes, and the implementation of reasonable accommodations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Two years of Leave/Accommodation experience.
  • Proficient in MS office suite (Excel, Word, Access, Adobe).
