Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for all aspects pertaining to operational activities and program management within a designated grouping of clinics or units on a 7-day/week, 24-hour basis in collaboration with the Director, Nursing. The nurse manager is responsible for daily operations to meet financial, quality, and strategic initiatives and metrics. Using constructive problem solving, the nurse manager works collaboratively with peers, supervisor, physicians, advanced practice providers, subordinates, and all team members across the enterprise to achieve excellent patient outcomes and a workplace of choice.

Be a change agent and encourage staff to welcome change. Monitor and control resources (human and material), provide excellent customer service. Encourage higher learning/ professional development in staff. Assures professional and regulatory standards are met and maintained.

As a successful candidate, you will:

Program Planning and Goal Setting:

  • Collaborate on departmental programs and goals aligned with the organization's strategic plan.
  • Assist in implementing new technology, services, and improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively across the organization.

Patient Care and Clinical Quality:

  • Establish standards for timely, safe, and effective patient care.
  • Ensure satisfaction of patients, physicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Foster collaborative relationships to support high-quality care.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and measure staff performance against standards.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and critical thinking among staff.
  • Respond to patient safety issues and escalate unresolved issues.

Personnel and Human Resource Management:

  • Recruit and maintain competent staff.
  • Facilitate staff orientation, education, and professional development.
  • Ensure staff licensure and competency.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships and provide counseling or performance improvement as needed.
  • Manage temporary staff and promote wellness practices.Fiscal Accountability:
  • Contribute to annual budget development and monitor variances.
  • Identify equipment and project needs.
  • Justify staffing plans and submit required documents for purchases and repairs.
  • Collaborate on Return on Investment (ROI) for new programs or services.
  • Advance strategic goals of the organization.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or BSN not required if holds MSN)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an area of expertise relevant to the department with demonstrated progressive leadership growth
  • California RN license (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • National Certification (must be acquired within 12 months of hire or transfer)
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $61.36 - $102.47 / hour
