Summary

Seeking a strategic HR professional to fill a crucial role at the Center for Comparative Medicine. Responsibilities include providing key HR support to leadership, day-to-day divisional HR support operations, streamlining onboarding processes for animal care staff, and actively contributing to staffing plans and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Develops staffing/workforce plans for the department, including oversight and preparation of the annual personnel budget for the department.
  • Screens, interviews and selects candidates, including offer communication and salary negotiation.
  • Handles employee conflicts within department and partners with managers and Employee Relations on any disciplinary actions, terminations, RIFs and employee retirement.
  • Manages HR analytics (Power BI) for the department and makes recommendations based on the data.
  • Consults and advises departmental leaders on various employment issues.
  • Works with Mission HR and Finance on the financial impact of position management and changes.
  • Oversees the onboarding and division specific orientation of new employees ensuring that new employees are set up for success.
  • Oversees HR support staff to ensure accuracy and compliance in day-to-day transactions.
  • Identifies/resolves compensation issues in department and manages compensation processes within department – promotions, merits, equities, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Four years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree.
  • Strong written and oral presentation
  • Critical thinker
  • Emotionally intelligent
  • Can work in a fast paced environment
  • Knows some HR and/or Business Operations (experience)
  • Willing to consider those with transferable skillsets
