Job Description
Summary
Seeking a strategic HR professional to fill a crucial role at the Center for Comparative Medicine. Responsibilities include providing key HR support to leadership, day-to-day divisional HR support operations, streamlining onboarding processes for animal care staff, and actively contributing to staffing plans and procedures.
Job Duties
- Develops staffing/workforce plans for the department, including oversight and preparation of the annual personnel budget for the department.
- Screens, interviews and selects candidates, including offer communication and salary negotiation.
- Handles employee conflicts within department and partners with managers and Employee Relations on any disciplinary actions, terminations, RIFs and employee retirement.
- Manages HR analytics (Power BI) for the department and makes recommendations based on the data.
- Consults and advises departmental leaders on various employment issues.
- Works with Mission HR and Finance on the financial impact of position management and changes.
- Oversees the onboarding and division specific orientation of new employees ensuring that new employees are set up for success.
- Oversees HR support staff to ensure accuracy and compliance in day-to-day transactions.
- Identifies/resolves compensation issues in department and manages compensation processes within department – promotions, merits, equities, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Master's degree.
- Strong written and oral presentation
- Critical thinker
- Emotionally intelligent
- Can work in a fast paced environment
- Knows some HR and/or Business Operations (experience)
- Willing to consider those with transferable skillsets
