Job Description

Summary

This position is available for summer 2024 (anticipated start date mid-May 2024), full-time for approximately 12 weeks.

 


The goal of this internship program is to provide an introduction to the administration and operations management of the Baylor College of Medicine Global Health and Texas Children’s Global programs, as well as exposure to key issues in global health. Day to day work will vary and focus on global program management, operations, and implementation including projects that focus on monitoring and evaluation, social media, fundraising, education and training.

Job Duties

  • Gains experience in the field of global health operations management.
  • Develops skills in collaboration and coordination within a complex organizational and implementation structure.
  • Gains an understanding of global health programs and interventions in a variety of countries.
  • Gains exposure to global clinical programming and related health challenges in low resource settings.
  • Gains experience working with diverse and multidisciplinary global health implementers and experts.
  • Develops and disseminates relevant global health materials including social media posts, websites, presentations, and outreach materials.
  • Develops and updates global health training materials and curriculum.
  • Supports philanthropic efforts including research and development of proposals to prospective partners and donors.
  • Supports global health project management to ensure that specific activities are on track to meet intended deliverables and align with Global Health priorities (e.g. operations, scholarly activity, external affairs).
  • Other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned based on organizational and programming need and/or the intern’s individual interests.

    

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a graduate degree-granting program with a focus on Health, Global Health, International Development, Communications, Public Policy, Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Education or other relevant area of study.
