What Your Job Will Be Like:

Are you passionate about data analytics? If so, consider applying to join our Data Analytics team as a Year-round Undergraduate Intern. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with other inter-disciplinary groups within Sandia to work on delivering tools that enable verification, plotting and qualification outputs for the current and emerging programs to meet the national interests.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Learn how to use and track Gitlab issues that may require some software development to help maintain the existing code base.
  • Learn how to create MATLAB-based GUIs.
  • Learn how to write MATLAB functions, and classes.
  • Learn how to create Unity-based Virtual Reality spaces to resolve electrical testing and interfacing, and to help visualize data gathered from flight tests.
  • Learn how to create and use Simulink digital models alongside a Model Base System Engineer to create digital threads for electrical testing and interfacing.
  • Run, maintain, or work with a mentor to improve existing MATLAB code per request.
  • Have a desire to learn AGILE methodologies, and participate in code development Scrums/Sprints
  • Work closely with our team as we collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers on emerging systems and functional electrical testing teams.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Familiarity with MATLAB
  • Familiarity with Git and GitLab
  • Familiarity in coding (e.g., C#, R, Python, etc)
  • Familiarity of Machine Learning
  • Familiarity of Artificial Intelligence
  • Knowledge of Models Based System Engineering
  • Experience working cooperatively with other internal and external STEM disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to develop and present briefings that are clear and compelling.

About Our Team:

The 2333 Data Analytics Team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating tool development to ensure accurate data analysis is completed on qualification and certification test data for the W80-4, W87-1, and emerging Nuclear Weapon Programs. Our team uses a highly coordinated Scrum/Sprint approach to execute of our tool development and resolve issues in a prioritized method.

Security Clearance:
