Job Description

South Dakota Mines is seeking a Faculty Development Coordinator (FDC). This is a benefited position that is full-time during the 10-month period of July 22 to May 21 each year.

Under the direction of the Director of Faculty Development (DFD), the FDC will work collaboratively with numerous campus groups and constituents to create, support, and deliver quality faculty professional development programming. The position will also provide operational support for the Office of Faculty Development and Advancement, including data reporting and analysis, report writing and submission, purchasing, and event coordination.

Faculty development has been identified as an important objective in advancing the strategic mission of the institution. Along with with the DFD , the FDC will have the opportunity to develop a campus culture that creates opportunities to elevate all faculty and help them to advance in their careers. Responsibilities of the position are to:

Coordinate and facilitate faculty peer mentoring programming.
Collaborate with campus departments and constituencies to create and deliver professional development programming.
Conduct assessment of professional development programming, to include data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Promote and publicize OFDA programming to faculty.

Minimum Qualifications include:
A Bachelor’s Degree
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience working with diverse teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom
Effective time management skills
