Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Multicultural Student Engagement, the Coordinator will assist in the development and execution of programming to promote belonging, community, and success. Primarily, this professional will be responsible for the facilitation of student success programming, the Augusta Promise mentorship program, intercultural campus-wide programming, and student leadership development workshops.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

STUDENT RESOURCE: Serve as a resource for students regarding academic, personal, and social needs by assisting in the coordination of student success and mentorship programming for first-generation college students eligible for the Augusta Promise Scholarship Program and other relevant office initiatives.

PROGRAM INITIATIVES: Support the development, implementation, and assessment of campus-wide programming initiatives to include self-awareness, cross-cultural learning, celebrations, and heritage months.

ADVISING AND ASSISTING STUDENTS: Assist in the advisement and coordination of the Peer Education program and conduct student leadership development.

RESPOND AND COORDINATE: Respond to student crises related to belonging and other critical issues concerning student populations. Coordinate with the Director of MSE and the AVP for Access, Success, and Belonging as appropriate.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Supervise MSE graduate assistant(s) and student mentors;

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus two years of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred (or substantial progress towards the completion of a Master's Degree in higher education administration, college student personnel, or related field).

One year of direct experience working with students in a higher education setting and evidence of dedication to working with underrepresented and marginalized students is required. Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering large-scale, campuswide programmatic efforts, advising student groups, providing student leadership development workshops, collaboratively working with campus and community partners is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, general administrative duties, programming, and knowledge of student organizational operations.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 14

Salary Minimum: $36,197 - Midpoint: $48,866

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
