South Dakota State University is seeking an Accountant to join our accounting department team. This new position will join a dynamic team who play a crucial role in the financial health of our university. The SDSU accounting office creates a positive experience for our employees to help them grow professionally. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the different stakeholders within the organization and ensuring that accounting processes are in place. The position requires excellent organization and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities: This position will maintain assigned financial processes (i.e., review of journal vouchers, cash receipts, CAS entries, fund reconciliations, and assigned analysis and projects), assist campus financial personnel with accounting questions, cross train key financial processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Accounting guidance (GAAP and GASB) BOR/University policy and procedures, and state law;
Microsoft Office applications

Skill & Ability to:
Perform data entry with high speed and accuracy;
Prioritize work to meet deadlines;
Recognize discrepancies; and
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
