Job Summary:
The Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA/Division) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Community Relations Coordinator to play a pivotal role in advancing the division's community engagement initiatives. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Communications, the Community Relations Coordinator will be responsible for spearheading outreach strategies that align with organizational goals, fostering partnerships among the DDEEA, UW- Madison, and the local community, as well as alumni and campus partners around the country.

Under the leadership of the Executive Director of Communications, the Community Relations Coordinator will strategically plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate, and actively participate in community and alumni activities/events. The primary focus will be on building collaborative relationships between the division, institution, and external stakeholders. This involves planning, developing, and engaging in programs, events, and activities to connect with the community, alumni, and other partners to initiate, promote, and foster collaborative programs and services.

The Community Relations Coordinator will play an integral role in enhancing current community relationships, developing new relationships, and creating a strategic plan for regular engagement. About the Division of Diversity, Equity and Educational Achievement (DDEEA)

Under the direction of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Diversity & Inclusion, Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer (DVCDI/VPCDO), the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA/Division) supports the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison as it works to create a diverse, inclusive, and excellent learning and work environment for all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners at the university. The DDEEA is comprised of administrative, education, scholarship, and service programs whose work overlaps with the core values of community, inclusion, organizational excellence, transparency, and accountability. The DDEEA collaborates, leads, and consults in efforts to seed new initiatives and coordinate numerous institutional efforts to support, guide, and promote these priorities.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

1. Community Relations Management
a. Develop, implement, and participate in programming and events to cultivate collaborative relationships with external stakeholders.
b. Create, manage, or serve on internal and external committees, task forces, and advisory boards to support relationships with external stakeholders.
c. Develop program evaluation systems for outcome measurements and benchmarks; modify and enhance programs to better meet external stakeholder needs.
d. Participate in University/Community activities to improve Community/DDEEA relations.
e. Create and implement processes and communications to facilitate information exchange among external stakeholders and the DDEEA and university.

2. Collaboration and Additional Duties
a. Foster a culture of inclusivity by establishing collaborative relationships and partnerships with colleagues in the DDEEA, the DDEEA's Director of Development, the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association, University Communications, Government Relations, and community organizations and leaders.
b. Participate in community councils, committees, and task forces with a wide range of constituencies.
c. Advise the DVCDI/VPCDO on community engagements, concerns, and opportunities, and represent the DDEEA at appropriate meetings and events.

3. Assume additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Communications, Senior Operations Officer and Chief of Staff, or DVCDI/VPCDO.

Responsibilities:
Organizes the development and delivery of outreach programs, including the responsibility for staffing. Assists with policy development and organizes resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
10% Directs the implementation of program policies and procedures
25% Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships to promote the outreach program
25% Schedules and secures logistics and resources in support of an outreach program
10% Schedules day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
20% Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development
10% Attend events as a representative of the Division as needed
