What Your Job Will Be Like: We are seeking an Information Systems Architect to join our Enterprise Linux System Architecture team and develop modern methods for delivering Linux based hosting for a variety of workloads, using technology solutions such as Ansible for lifecycle management. This is an opportunity to be a prime contributor to the development and deployment of these new services and a critical connection for our customers in translating business needs into automated technical solutions. On any given day, you may be called upon to: + Provide Linux deployment, and lifecycle configuration management support + Develop and refine automation capabilities for consistent systems and application deployments + Monitor and maintain existing deployments in a scalable and automated fashion + Identify targets for automation and develop process workflows + Utilize virtual, cloud, and container environments for Linux based application and service delivery + Collaborate with other system and application groups to assist in automation and configuration management Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite. Qualifications We Require: + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering or a related plus 5 years of experience; or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years) + Experience with: + Administering Linux operating systems + Programming or scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell) + Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance Qualifications We Desire: + Experience in some of the following: + Managing large numbers of IT systems or instances (50+) + Virtualization technologies (VM, Container, and Cloud platforms) + Configuration, virtualization, and automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker etc.) + Version control + Good communication, analytical, presentation, and organizational skills + Experience prioritizing and completing tasks in a constantly evolving environment + Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships both internal and external to the department About Our Team: The Enterprise IT Platforms & Solutions organization (9782) provides modern platforms for Sandia Enterprise IT: container orchestration, virtualization, Linux configuration and patch management, and Linux and Windows server systems. We design and operate technologies and processes to ensure IT systems are reliable, consistent, and secure throughout the lifecycle of the system.
