Job Title: Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the successful candidate will assist the Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the financial aid office, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of financial aid services to students. They will be responsible for managing a team, assisting with creating policies and procedures, creating training materials and manage training of new staff, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the undergraduate financial aid team, including training, mentoring, and performance management.

Policy and Procedure Development: Assist the Director to develop and implement policies and procedures related to the administration of financial aid programs.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations governing financial aid programs.

Student Advising: Provide guidance and support to all students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility requirements, and application processes. This position will be required to maintain a caseload of Undergraduate traditional students.

Outreach: Represent the Financial Aid Office at Admissions events such as open houses and admitted student days, including giving occasional presentations to students and their families.

Training: Responsible for creating and maintaining training material and creating an ongoing training program for onboarding of new staff and maintaining the skills of current staff.

Collaboration: Collaborate with other campus departments, including admissions, registrar, and student services, to ensure a seamless student experience.

Professional Development: Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to financial aid administration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial aid administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Thorough understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations, including Title IV programs. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with financial aid management systems and software, Workday experience a plus. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work occasional nights and weekends for event coverage.
