What Your Job Will Be Like:

Are you passionate about Research and Development, Model Based Systems Engineering and solid Systems Engineering (SE) processes? Are you up to the challenge of a fast-paced program? Do you want to be part of a world class SE team spearheading the future in Digital Engineering (DE) transformation? If so, we are currently seeking an experienced R&D Systems Engineer to join our team! Due to the nature of the work, this candidate must work onsite and some travel is required.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work in a complex and challenging MBSE environment
  • Implement approaches for Digital Engineering to incrementally advance standard methodologies in SE on active developmental programs
  • Develop and implement project plans for product development efforts
  • Work on programs for missile, air, and space defense, and associated innovative technologies
  • Work as part of a dynamic team that develops and modernizes the Nation’s most critical weapon systems to ensure strategic deterrence for America

Salary Range:

$104,100 - $207,100

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field, plus 5 years related experience performing SE work,
  • OR equivalent (AS + 9).
  • Experience performing Systems Engineering work such as requirements development, functional architecture development, physical architecture development, and performance verification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Knowledge of SysML, Cameo, Model Based Systems Engineering practices and tools
  • Experience with:
  • SE requirements development, capture, tracking, and validation
  • Engineering design from concept through demonstration
  • Configuration management processes and tools
  • Integrating tools in a DE ecosystem
  • Proficient communication, including presentations to peers, management, and customers
  • Social and business acuity, and comfort communicating through challenging situations
  • Demonstrated ability in missiles, flight vehicles, missile defense systems or other areas of Aerospace Systems design and program experience
  • Understanding of test, integration, health management processes, states and modes analysis
  • Active DOE Q-level or DOD Top Secret Clearance

About Our Team:

The 5400 Systems Engineering department applies interdisciplinary systems engineering principles and approaches to transform a set of customer needs into a solution that meets those needs with verifiable, traceable, and testable requirements. The SE team accomplishes this by coordinating the engineering design, development, and demonstration of complex military systems. SE Methods used are Model-Based Systems Engineering, Concept of Operations Development, Requirements Analysis and Definition, System Design Descriptions, Trade Studies, Design Analysis, Interface Design and Assessment, Integrated System Test Planning, System Verification and Validation, and Configuration.
