Job Summary

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Director, HR Business Partners & Executive Search provides guidance and direction to Executive Search team and the HRBP team at Augusta University (AU). The Executive Search team is the HR point of contact for all executive recruitment. The HRBP team is the initial Human Resources point of contact for AU departments and leads staff recruitment. The Director ensures a high level of service to meet the university's HR needs efficiently and effectively. As a member of the AU HR Leadership team, this position is expected to maintain an overall understanding of HR functional areas, promote collaboration between HR departments and utilize data analytics to identify trends and solutions to stakeholders' challenges.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain superior technical HR skills, knowledge, and expertise, including the latest trends and best practices, to ensure a holistic understanding of AU HR.
  • Partner with other HR directors in deliberating and establishing short- and long-term division strategies.
  • Maintain a full perspective of human resources functional areas, emphasizing policies and people management procedures.
  • Conduct a continuous review of processes to create speed and efficiency that support the rapidly shifting needs of the university.
  • Analyze data, assess trends, and proactively identify issues and opportunities. Provide solutions and recommendations.
  • Play a leading strategic role in developing and driving people management strategies that promote employee recruitment, retention, and engagement.
  • Evaluate the performance of the Manager, Executive Search, and HRBP individual team members, enabling, and encouraging a high level of performance.
  • Ensure Manager, Executive Search, and the members of the HRBP team are equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties.
  • Build strong relationships with departmental teams and be a trusted advisor for senior leadership.
  • Guide the HRBP team in identifying and sourcing the best talent to realize measurable impact for the university.
  • Create and/or seek innovative and community-based recruitment opportunities that position Augusta University as an employer of choice.
  • Serve as an HRBP to a small portfolio of departments providing direction on HR policies and processes and advising on talent management to promote continuous growth and development of the department.
  • Management of the preemployment processes including background criminal history and the employee health process
  • Perform other duties delegated by the VP of Human Resources.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive human resources experience, including middle to senior management experience, and a minimum of 3 years supervising multiple direct reports. Recent experience recruiting in multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for nonexempt, exempt, and leadership positions. Experience in recruitment HRIS (applicant tracking) System.

Preferred Qualifications

SPHR, PHR, or SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP Certification.
Experience working within the University System of Georgia.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge:

Holistic understanding of Human Resources across a broad base of HR functions. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies that affect employment and other human resources areas, including, but not limited to, FLSA, FMLA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, EEOC Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures, OFCCP regulations, fair employment practices, non-discrimination, and harassment. Strong knowledge of human capital management systems, supervisory practices, and principles. Working knowledge of an HRIS System, background check processes, and related processes.

Skills:

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Use of technology to promote operational efficiencies and improve service delivery. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.

Abilities:

Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality. Ability to lead with both a decisive and consultative style, foster open communications, and proactively build positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, and diverse constituencies. Experience working at the leadership level in support of a high-paced, highly productive, and efficient time management environment. Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships and rapport with all levels across the organization.



Shift/Salary/Benefits

Salary to be commensurate with experience.
