What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Year Round - R&D Undergraduate Intern to join our Global Security and Analysis Simulation (GSAS) team! Qualified candidates will join a multidisciplinary team of developers, 3D modelers, and physical security experts to support international and domestic physical security programs. They will leverage industry game engines to assist with the design, development, and implementation of various physical security training and analysis efforts. Additionally, they will help test, train, and present on related software tools.

On any given day, you may be called on to:• Develop applications using the Unity game engine• Test software and submit bug reports• Work closely with the development team• Develop software training documentation/demonstrations• Learn and implement existing department software in support of virtual or in-person exercises

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Experience in the Unity Game Engine
  • Experience in software testing, bug fixing
  • Experience in C# and or Java
  • Web development
  • Strong interpersonal and Communication skills

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
