Job Summary

Supports live video productions including all live events for the university as well as athletics. Edits, produce video packages for the university broadcasts that help align with the university mission. Assists in technical setup of events. Troubleshoots equipment problems both live and scheduled equipment supervision. Points for all technical issues during broadcasts and serve as student manager for technical and camera staff.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supports live events through serving as an engineer, producer and camera technician. Maintains all equipment during broadcasts. Loads and setup equipment for events. Works on productions as assigned. Maintains all equipment. Works as entry level engineering assistant to director.
  • Maintains all inventory, oversees and management of project assignments.
  • Assists the director in productions and edits video and audio as assigned.
  • Manages and coaches student workers and assists director with daily tasks
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two years related experience. Exposure to video and photographic equipment, having worked in leadership and schedule based productions.

Intermediate photography skills

Beginning level video engineering skills and understanding of trouble shooting video for live events.

Good video and editing skills with demo reflecting this ability.

Interpersonal skills

Leadership skills and experience

Experience with sport/media production

Understanding of Adobe products

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES

Must have the ability to work independently following established policies and procedures. Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines. Ability to troubleshoot complex technology problems. Ability to read and understand technical manuals, documentation, and schematics. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to work after normal business hours and weekends as required. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

KNOWLEDGE

Basic understanding of engineering and entry level IT and engineering skills. Knowledge of video cameras; Knowledge of Adobe software; Understanding of basic video fundamentals

SKILLS

Experience in Windows and Mac hardware and software support. Must have the ability to work independently following established policies and procedures. Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines. Effective interpersonal, relationship-building, written, and verbal skills. Strong customer-service orientation. Self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday

Pay Grade: 13

Salary: $16.19 - $19.23

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
