NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

Are you a passionate leader with a background in Facilities, Project, and Construction Management looking for the next great opportunity? If so, we are seeking a transformational leader to join our fast-paced, dedicated, and fun team as our Senior Manager, Facilities!

In this pivotal role you will lead four departments responsible for driving the facilities project and construction management work for Sandia New Mexico. This team completes approximately $150M of facility work annually with operational excellence to achieve our mission. The work also includes remote sites at WETL, located in Amarillo Texas; Tonopah, located in Nevada; and Kauai, Hawaii.

Our group, of approximately 80 people, partners across the division, with every program and functional area within Sandia. External to Sandia this role partners across the National Security Enterprise, with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and with the Sandia Field Office (SFO) to provide project support and updates.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as Project or Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or other field related to Facilities Management, plus ten (10) or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and relevant experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of leadership/managerial experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Ten or more years of demonstrated leadership and/or managerial experience.
  • Relevant master’s degree (such as Architecture, Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, Construction/Facilities Management, Data Sciences, etc.).
  • Knowledge of DOE Order 413.3B requirements and the management of capital asset projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with earned value management system (EVMS) requirements and application.
  • Knowledge of financial practices related to capitalization of property.
  • Familiarity with construction and A/E acquisition methodologies, constraints, and contracting practices/alternatives.
  • Knowledge of safety related programs: OSHA 1926 and 10 CFR 851.
  • Knowledge of Facilities projects processes and program requirements.

About Our Team:

Center 4800, Facilities Management and Projects is responsible for two groups that professionally service the facilities mission requirements at Sandia. The Portfolio & Space Management group manages the Facilities Area Management (FAM) teams, the Work Coordination and Control (WCC) organization, and the Integrated Space Solutions (ISS) team. The FAM teams serve as the primary entry point to Facilities services to enable the national security mission. The Project Management Group provides project and construction management for minor specialized projects that are high-risk/high-complexity activities, and minor construction projects less than $30M. They also manage the Restoration, Renovation, Revitalization & Sustainability (R3S) programs for existing Sandia infrastructure assets and buildings. Security Clearance:

Salary Range:

$166,700 - $283,600

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
