Overview of the Role

Would you like to prove your ability and gain experience in the delivery of outstanding student education in a renowned international health centre at a world-class university? Do you have expertise relating to international public health and/ or health systems? 

 

This developmental role provides an opportunity for you to deliver excellent student experience on international health of our intercalated undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes. You will have the opportunity to deliver lectures, practical sessions and tutorials as well as supporting in leading a module and being involved in the assessment, supervision and mentoring of students. You will be student centred in your approach and be able to provide academic support to students.

We have a teaching fellow opportunity at grade seven, full time, from 01/09/2024 for 18 months. 

Applicants will have a postgraduate or equivalent qualification who has just completed or about to complete PhD in related fields of health, public health or health systems and have previous international experience, especially in low-middle income countries. You should have experience of developing and delivering your own teaching using a range of materials and methods and be able to demonstrate experience of student assessment and giving feedback. You will also have excellent computer and IT skills, with effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Experience in undertaking administrative duties will also be an advantage.

As a Teaching Fellow, the main focus of the role will be the development and delivery of high-quality teaching. However, there is an intention that you will have the opportunity to benefit from the research culture and activities within the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development in order to help you deliver world class, research informed teaching.

You will report to Mayeh Omar, Teaching Coordinator, Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development.
