Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports student learning by providing quality instruction for a wide variety of college-level Electrical Engineering courses, including but not limited to: Electrical and Electronic Circuits (algebra-based and calculus-based); Digital Electronics; and Microprocessors.
Establishes clear course objectives; engaging class activities; effective presentations of learning materials; fair grading practices; timely responses to students; and a positive classroom atmosphere.
Handles a teaching load of fifteen (15) contact hours per semester. Related responsibilities include maintaining five (5) office hours per week for student advisement and tutoring and participating in departmental, divisional, and College-wide activities, including those related to maintaining the ABET accreditation of the Engineering Technology programs.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Science degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited program
College teaching experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Commitment to a culture of assessment and evidence-informed teaching


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An earned PhD degree from an accredited program
Community college teaching experience
Three (3) years of industrial experience in the Engineering field
Expertise in circuit theory; circuit simulation software; field programmable gate array and HDL programming; microcontroller/microprocessors; and assembly language programming
Experience and knowledge of Networking, Electronic Communications, design and manufacturing technologies, programmable logic controllers, and programming in C or C++
Knowledge of the College’s mission and vision
Evidence of diverse instructional methods that address a variety of learning styles
Evidence of incorporating digital technologies in both face-to-face and online/remote classrooms
