Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach MUSIC 230, Concert Ensemble, in Fall 2024.

This course will be taught in person, on campus.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:10-6:25pm

This position is focused exclusively on instructional responsibilities, as all logistical aspects, including concert scheduling, programming, and music procurement, will be overseen by the Director of Instrumental Studies. While attendance at events beyond assigned rehearsals is not obligatory, enthusiastic participation is encouraged should the candidate desire it. We are seeking candidates with teaching and conducting experience in instrumental hybrid ensembles, ideally encompassing both collegiate and K-12 levels.

Instrumentalists are auditioned and organized into a large ensemble which performs 2-3 times per semester. Study focuses on developing technical, musical, and expressive skills as students also hone their ability to be communicative and responsive in group settings.



Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with teaching and conducting experience in instrumental hybrid ensembles, ideally encompassing both collegiate and K-12 levels.

Candidates must reside in California.

Salary: $2,482 - $3,436 depending on qualifications

The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
