The ABA Accreditation and Field-based Experience Coordinator will support the graduate and undergraduate applied behavior analysis (Autism Programs). This position will report to the Chair of the Department of Special Education. They will provide support to the Director(s) program assessment and coordinate other program evaluation activities related to accreditation; serve as practicum coordinator to facilitate and monitor practicum placements; assist students with instructional and curriculum issues; and complete other related tasks as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Special education.

Job Function:

The ABA Accreditation and Field-based Experience Coordinator will support the graduate and undergraduate applied behavior analysis (Autism Programs). This position will report to the Chair of the Department of Special Education. They will provide support to the Director(s) program assessment and coordinate other program evaluation activities related to accreditation; serve as practicum coordinator to facilitate and monitor practicum placements; assist students with instructional and curriculum issues; and complete other related tasks as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Special education.

Minimum Education:

Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis or a related area.

Preferred Education:

Doctoral degree in related area.

Minimum Experience:

3 years post-BCBA experience.


Preferred Experience:

Experience with accreditation.
Experience with program evaluation.
Experience in higher education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review student transcripts for Pathway 2 BACB requirements with support from the student success specialists.

  • Support the ABA/Autism program director(s) in completing annual APBA accreditation self-study.

  • Maintain current knowledge of changes in accreditation standards.
  • Facilitate program data analysis to support accreditation requirements.
  • Manage student fieldwork experience which includes; approving student placements, verifying supervisor qualifications, serving as the point of contact for supervisors, auditing practicum sites, and managing student background checks and completion of EduRisk training for students enrolled in SPCE 638/SPCE 683.
  • Update ABA/Autism Undergraduate and Graduate Program Handbook annually.
  • Develop, coordinate, and market professional development activities and social events for students in accordance with accreditation.
  • Coordinate on-going formal student progress and outcome reviews that are subsequently used to improve student outcomes and the academic program.
  • Develop and maintain an advisory board and community partnerships to solicit feedback from those knowledgeable about ABA-based services and/or the populations and communities the program serves to inform the curriculum per accreditation standard.
  • Maintain website with information regarding time to graduate, graduation rates attrition, recruitment, BACB pass rates, and other information in accordance with accreditation standards.
  • Manage and maintain database for reviewing, approving, storing information related to student Capstone projects.
  • Support the Department of Special Education ABA leadership in evaluating and ensuring quality control for instructional content and learner experience.
  • Support the department in pursuing accreditation by completing the following:

    • Conduct outcomes assessment required by accrediting body and summarizes data for ABA/Autism Core Faculty.

    • Develop and administer student satisfaction survey to evaluate their experience with and access to academic advising provided by faculty/staff knowledgeable about the program and requirements for licensing, certification, and career paths in accordance with accreditation standards.

    • Maintain database of student contact post-graduation and administers annual post-graduation outcomes survey for accreditation purposes.

    • Evaluate students’ satisfaction with field-based experience.

    • Coordinate scheduled formal and informal student assessment of teaching and develops a documented strategy and process for using the feedback to improve the course content and learning activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
