Summary

The Neonatal Nutrition Research Group at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Coordinator II to join our research group. The mission of this program is to develop novel therapies and research to provide the best possible outcomes for our most fragile and vulnerable infants in the Neonatal ICU.

The incumbent research coordinator will assist with the coordination and implementation of multiple clinical research protocols and collaborate with the research team which consists of a physician, nurses, dietitians and nutrition students.

Coordination of day-to-day activities of clinical research protocols. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.

Job Duties

  • Recruit, advertise, and screen for research patients. Assist in determining patient eligibility for research protocols.
  • May collect, process, ship, and maintain paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
  • May correspond with patient throughout study.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
  • Retrieve and deliver human specimens to the designated lab and/or personnel.
  • Collect and enter data into study database.
  • Coordinate and schedule research subject appointments for tests and procedures.
  • Compose and type study correspondence and other documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field. No experience with preferred degree.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Prior experience with computer spreadsheets and database management preferred.
  • Available to work occasional weekends.
