Summary

This Postdoctoral Associate position will reside in the Department of Psychiatry, specifically a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry lab at the BCM and Texas Children's Hospital. The focus of this position will work in apprenticeship under the Professor in preparation for a career as a scientific/medical professional in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Job Duties

  • Participant facing activities:

    • Assisting with clinical assessment, administering neuropsychological tasks and symptom rating scales, may be required to receive on the job training of phlebotomy, and consenting for research studies.

  • Broader activities related to research visits:

    • Completing data collection, following up on regulatory matters, that includes pursuing any actions to ensure participants safety, sharing relevant information with participants primary providers, following up on laboratory tests obtained in the context of the study.

  • Research tasks:

    • Acquiring necessary skills to carry out brain imaging analyses for structural and functional imaging, to carry out analyses for physical activity monitoring, to carry out analyses for electrophysiological data.

  • Scholarly tasks:

    • Writing up manuscripts to report on research findings and pursuing opportunities to present in local and national scientific meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.
