The Dance department is seeking an instructor for DANCE 118, Hip-hop Dance, in the Fall 2024 term.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:15 - 6:45 PM

This course will be taught in person, on campus.

Course description:

This course introduces students to the art of Hip-hop dance as well as providing the necessary skills and understanding for an appreciation of the artistic, historic, cultural and social qualities of the form. Throughout the course, students will learn various concepts surrounding Hip-hop including music, history of dance, freestyle and Dancehall.

Throughout the term, Dance faculty are required to attend dance faculty meetings and will be compensated for these hours.



Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have completed an MFA in Dance and have experience teaching and choreographing Hip Hop dance, freestyle and Dancehall.

Applicants must reside in California.

Salary: $2,482 - $3,436 depending on qualifications

The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
