Position Summary
The Division of Student Affairs enhances learning and strengthens the educational experience of Oregon State University students. Our programs and services impact students’ health and well-being, cultivate academic success through advising and support services, guide students in their career exploration and empower students to become leaders.

Student Affairs Communications & Marketing seeks a student employee to help expand the division’s presence on our main social media channel (@osuexperience/Instagram + TikTok) and assist in content development that engages and informs students about OSU activities, programs and services. In addition to social media content development, the marketing assistant will support other assigned communications and marketing duties.

This position will have a starting pay of $16/hour and require a weekly 8 to 12-hour commitment during the academic year with an option to return for the following academic years.
Position Duties
· Create content for on-campus and online marketing needs for Division of Student Affairs units (e.g., videos, photos, etc.).
· Utilize video and photo equipment and editing tools (e.g., iPhone, CapCut, Lightroom, etc.).
· Demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to submit projects and deliverables on time (e.g., content calendar).
· Conceptualize engaging ideas for the Division of Student Affairs that address target audiences (e.g., market research).
· Ability to act independently and work effectively with office staff to refine and finalize content.
· Demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the student experience and creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for all OSU students.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
· Proficiency in utilizing social media platforms, tools and trends, including Instagram and TikTok.
· Proficiency in image or video editing software (i.e., Adobe Creative Cloud Suite or equivalent, such as CapCut or Canva).
· Efficiency with communications tools (i.e., iPhone, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
· Knowledge of universal design, photography and videography basics.
· Possess an interest in learning university branding guidelines, the basics of Associated Press style, alternative text and accessible formats.

Working Conditions/Work Schedule:
· The student worker’s schedule will generally be flexible and require at least 8 hours per week or more during peak periods.
· This position requires in-person attendance on the Corvallis campus, with flexible hybrid locations.
