Hampden-Sydney College, a liberal arts college in Hampden-Sydney, Virginia, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its next director of the Ferguson Career Center. This is an on-site leadership role; the anticipated start date is late summer 2024.

The director of the Ferguson Career Center (FCC) plays an integral role in supporting the distinct mission of Hampden-Sydney College (H-SC). H-SC is the tenth oldest institution of higher learning in the United States (1775) and is the oldest of the country's few remaining private colleges that specialize in educating and developing young men. The director provides strategic, innovative, and collaborative leadership to support career exploration, career decision-making and development, experiential learning, employer engagement, alumni engagement, successful planning and transition to post-graduation employment, and graduate/professional school enrollment for H-SC students. The director develops collaborative relationships and partnerships with campus stakeholders and local, national, and international employing organizations to accomplish the FCC's mission. Further, the director leads a team of four employees and stewards fiscal and physical resources to best serve the diverse needs of H-SC students and the broader community. The director is expected to participate in college committees, working groups, and initiatives and represent the college with external stakeholders and partners.
