Job Summary
This position leads the Standardize and Centralized Recruitment process for the University executive positions. This position will be required to effectively identify and utilize all available resources to cultivate and to attract highly qualified applicants for executive level positions. Is responsible for coordinating interviews and referring applicants for leadership positions throughout the organization. This position will build and maintain professional relationships within the campus as well as the community and when applicable search firms.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Manages/leads and oversees the recruiting processes for all executive level searches as the University's primary point of contact. Actively recruiting executive level candidates nationally/internationally; assisting with search committees in the facilitation and management of the search process.
- Tracks the progress of pending and ongoing searches, provides updates to leadership within Human Resources monthly. Leverages resources to adequately solicit interest, identify candidates and manage the interview experience for both the candidate and the interviewer.
- Providing a high level of excellent customer service and guidance when advising/consulting with hiring managers for comprehensive recruitment and staffing related topics.
- Establishes and maintains ongoing positive/professional relationships with hiring executives to stay abreast of current and future hiring and business needs as well as coordinating the effective onboarding of new hires.
- Directly stays in constant communication during the interview stage with the search chair and their primary points of contact.
- Will interact with hiring managers to gain an understanding of current and future needs of the organization which directly impacts the successful selection and timely placement of critical positions.
- Informs the appropriate leadership of necessary changes or when their time is needed or requested for executive recruitment.
- Is seen as a positive leader by all parties (Deans, Chairs, VPs, and their support staff) to call on and go to for their questions/inquiries as it relates to executive search.
- Tracks performance metrics to evaluate progress and to measure the effectiveness of the search firms. Oversee the collection of EEO data and submittal of the Office of Employee Equity.
- Manages the offering steps with the primary point of contact (Department Chair, Dean, VP or designed) of position stage between those on a need-to-know bases with senior leadership.
- Review the market assessment with the Human Resources Classification/Compensation Director/Section. Ensures that there is documentation regarding the support of the starting offering amount.
- Provide observations/concerns if or when applicable to the appropriate HR Director.
- Provides guidance, creates, and/or collaborates with Faculty Support Services and the applicable departments when it relates to the offer letter.
- Prepares summaries of total compensation packet/offer and presents or provides information to the primary points of contact for the offer and is the liaison between for negotiated items.
- Oversees Executive Recruitment financial transactions. Projects, plans, and tracks expenditures. Provides monthly expenditures reports to immediate supervisor and/or financial designee for the division. Proactively comes up with ideas with the Director, Employment Services, for how we can advise and advance areas for improvement for the campus hiring departments to ensure/advise there aren't any considers with overage.
- Coordinate advertising in various publications to ensure that they are displaying a positive image for our branding for Augusta University. Lead discussions with the Director and/or vendor for advertising surrounding executive recruitment needs.
- Direct the HR Coordinator and or other support staff to include their workload, attendance, scheduling, performance, and evaluation. Other personnel who may be temporarily/periodically assisting with tasks. This can include pre-employment requirements (Background Check, Drug Screen, Physical Exam, Education Verification), ensuring that the candidate is properly escorted.
- Ensures the role of delivery (escorting) of the candidates to and from the interview is arranged.
- Assists with creating the Position Profile for the applicant sourcing (document which is provided as an overview for the job description which includes departmental information and an organizational overview); or may work with the search firm during their development of this document.
- Reviews, understands, and interprets the policies and procedures (to include USG's) as it relates to understanding the federal/state/institutional/USG policies and processes. Staying abreast of hiring expectations and business needs for the University.
- Directs, creates, and as needed, provides modifications for the schedule and the details for the itinerary, reservations for locations on or off campus, reservations for the candidate (involves the departments to provide guidance as needed).
- Develops strong sourcing channels to identify diverse candidates and ensures diversity is an integrated part of the recruiting process for every search. Identifies and determines the best search firm to match with desired outcome from searches. Services as a resource, advisor and communication liaison to the search committee chairperson and higher authorities involved in the search process. Trains search committees on functions required to fulfill responsibilities.
- Manages the necessary/applicable updates of the Executive On-boarding site as well as the applicant web page as needed.
- Keeping up to date with recruitment trends by attending meetings, training, and other ways to ensure we are including a diverse applicant pool and exploring new ways to explore positive marketing plans.
- Provides a charge to the committee or ensures that it is properly handled and emphasizes the importance of a fair and equitable process (prepared to periodically update information as necessary), this is considered training for the search committee. Providing written and or verbal instructions for the committee for the duration (or the search firm) of the search.
- Primary resource and oversees search committees in the administration and document management of the search process. Meets with search committee chairs and committees to develop a sound strategic recruitment strategy. Consults and advises on search and recruitment strategies. Presents candidates to search committee and/or search committee chairperson.
- Provides interview materials, such as interview questions, evaluation forms, and resumes. Actively participates in the candidate's interview experience. Ensures use of outside facilities and/or venues remain at a high professional level. In addition, will share in the role of the delivery of the candidates to and from the interview.
- Other related duties as assigned which have a direct impact on Executive Recruitment and other areas within our division. To help enhance and promote our division to the next level as it relates to development and improvement for Executive Recruitment, Employment and as and when needed recruitment duties and other responsibilities as requested/assigned for betterment of Human Resources and our campus.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and four years of recruitment experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree is a plus and additional years similar experience and or HR Certification from SHRM.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint is required. Must possess familiarity with standard concepts, practices, & procedures within the staffing industry.

Must be extremely perceptive, with the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships & appropriate rapport with all levels across the organization as well as with candidates/other internal/external constituents. Ability to prioritize tasks to meet individual and business goals. Communicate/represent positively by speaking well, presenting upbeat & positively, & be comfortable in front of a group, & able to interact successfully at all levels. Must also be self-motivated without direct supervision. Should be entrepreneurial yet able to work in a team environment & willing to personally attend to administrative back-office tasks as well as being proactive with front office meetings.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary: $64,553 to $82,800 annually
Pay Grade: 22
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
