Job Description Summary:

Supports student persistence and completion by providing career/employer services for student opportunities consistent with the Austin Community College District (ACCD) mission and goals. Working knowledge of the labor market, career resources, and ACC's programs are applied to support individuals in identifying viable, sustainable-wage, employment opportunities with a focus on improving economic equity for unemployed, underemployed, and marginalized populations.

Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Establishes and cultivates relationships with employers, industry organizations, ACC colleagues, recruiters, student organizations, and ACC students through site visits, networking opportunities, association meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Develops ongoing marketing strategies and materials to bring greater visibility of the College's students to relevant employers and industries with the intent of helping students secure interviews leading to sustainable-wage employment.
  • Grows the number of full-time, freelance, and other non-internship opportunities advertised to students/alumni with an emphasis on improving economic equity for unemployed, underemployed, and marginalized populations.
  • Strengthens diversity recruitment among ACC employer partners.
  • Creates greater visibility of the college and its students within relevant professional communities.
  • Recruits employers for job fairs, networking events, interviews, mentoring, and information sessions conducted at the college.
  • Enhances employer presence on campus via in-person and virtual methods.
  • Assesses and develops employer expectations regarding ACC students' competencies and abilities to meet workforce needs.
  • Promotes awareness of, and adherence to, best practices among all stakeholders.
  • Responds to employer recruiting and hiring inquiries with the goal of building long-term relationships to establish pipelines for student/alumni employment (full-time, part-time, short-term, temporary, etc.). Cultivates a variety of student learning opportunities inclusive of micro-internships, short term employment, and access to proprietary employer training curriculums.
  • Maximizes student-employer engagement through timely dissemination of opportunities using a variety of strategies including, but not limited to, the career management platform, social media, job boards, direct communication with colleagues, and student affairs communications. Maintains close collaboration with career services colleagues and programs with high representation of marginalized demographics providing direct job readiness/preparation service delivery is essential to effectively reaching priority students with tailored announcements.
  • Ensures ACC students have access to job opportunities associated with their skills, learning outcomes/credentials, and career objectives that pay livable, sustainable-wages.
  • Applies labor market information effectively in execution of duties.
  • Through collaboration with ACC colleagues, ensures integration of employer outreach, employer contacts, events, and job postings within the college-designated career management platform for consistency of services and to ensure a single, streamlined, initial, point of contact for employers and students.
  • Provides feedback to career services leadership team to support program development, heightened effectiveness of services and student outcomes, and identification of possible intervention points.
  • Ensures tracking of student-employer interactions and outcomes for data collection and analysis. Tracks and monitors employer activities and trends through position postings. Capitalizes on employer and industry relationships to gather relevant student outcomes data.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of college initiatives, student demographics, as well as credit and non-credit curriculum to educate employer representatives on engagement strategies.
  • Represents Career Services/Today's Jobs to all relevant stakeholders, including chambers of commerce, employers, college colleagues, student organizations, and students.

  • Use of a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
Required Work Experience
  • Two years related work experience.
Preferred Work Experience
  • Three or more years experience in recruiting, human resources, career services, or other related fields with demonstrated experience in employer relations.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range

$50,681 - $63,351
