Program Manager, Designer-in-Residence Program

Job Description Summary:

This role will propel the early-stage business segment for the Fashion Incubator, supporting critical functions of community management, mentor recruitment, event calendar management, event planning, student internships, marketing support, and other duties as assigned. This role will be required to work closely with the Director of the Fashion Incubator on program direction and development and to support the cultivation of critical partnerships through programmatic excellence and execution.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and evaluates assigned personnel while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures, as well as related employment laws.
  • Serve as community manager for the Designer-in-Residence program as primary point of contact for participants, interns, contracted vendors, and guests
  • Maintain communications channels with brands access to Fashion Incubator content, news, events and other related information.
  • Engage in recruitment efforts for full time, part-time, contracted staff, mentors and volunteers to support a smooth execution of all related tasks.
  • Liaise with appropriate internal and external vendor teams to ensure delivery of critical resources to the Fashion Incubator
  • Set the Designer-in-Residence education and event calendar and provide timely materials for marketing efforts in close collaboration/consultation with the Instructional Coordinator and related marketing teams; designing and executing educational events for Designer-in-Residence programs and prospective students.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations in keeping with ACC Academic Master Plan and the department’s strategic initiatives.
  • Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner which does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories.
  • Provide marketing support with the preparation of copy, research, incubated and alumni brand assets for the purpose of prospective brand recruitment in partnership with appropriate college and partner media teams
  • Report at regular intervals with appropriate metrics to support recordkeeping and data on all prospective, current, and alumni participants.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director.

Technology Skills

  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
  • Use of an online learning management system such as Blackboard to develop and build course content and perform administrative duties (posting office hours, syllabi, etc.).

Required Work Experience

  • Two years related work experience.

Preferred Work Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Office, Google Workspace, digital community management (eg. Slack), and video conferencing required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Project Management Software applications, and Gerber Technology are preferred, and will be expected to be acquired in the role.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Fashion Marketing, Fashion Merchandising or related field.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Safety

  • Supervise safe operation of unit. Facilitate safety inspections. Take reasonable and prudent actions to eliminate identified hazards. Ensure employees receive appropriate safety training and foster a workplace safety culture.

Salary Range

$64,116 - $80,145
